When this storm is over, we’ll be in a new ice age.

So I heard there was some snow in England or something the last few days?

Ha, no, I’m joking, I’m excited for it. It’s been snowing here too (it’s stopped now but it’s supposed to start again on Sunday), and I’ve actually discovered something.

People say about England shutting down because of the snow and that people panic and can’t do anything. You know what? I like that about us. You know what I don’t like? Sitting in a lecture hall and watching it snow when there’s a foot and a half outside that I could be playing in – which is what I have to do, because Germany is competently efficient when it comes to clearing snow from under your window at 7.30 a.m. They go to class here. They go to work.There’s no shutting yourself in the house with a book and hot chocolate, or TV or films, or anything else, and it sucks. So yes, I’m not going to go on about the panic. We have the right attitude, as far as I’m concerned.

It’s been fun here though – we had a snowball fight the other night after we’d been to the club and some random passers-by joined in (I have no aim, so everyone was clearly better than me – I had to resort to running up to people and dropping it on them). Plus, there are students who get very little or no snow at home, or who’ve never seen snow properly before. It’s great! 😀

Aside from the snow, I’ve got a bunch of work to do – and only two weeks left to do it in. I’ve booked my flight now, so I’m leaving on the 4th February and before then I’ve either got assignments to hand in or an exam for every class. It shouldn’t be too bad though; I can take a dictionary into most of them (so I will at least know what they’re asking me, even if I can’t always answer…) so I’m going to remain optimistic.
